What’s the Shape of Your Faith? - God’s Thumbprints

in Biblical Message

Heather said this week, instead of focusing on ourselves we are looking at what has God done for us.This is a topic I could write a book on, my life is God’s thumb print.

I could talk about the time where manly man and I decided to stop using credit cards all together. Once that was committed to and prayed over, the oven, the dryer and the dishwasher all broke at one time. I never felt so beat down and questioned everything we just prayed over. But we did not give in. Dryer was fixed for under $40, sister in law called a week after dishwasher broke and said “hey there is a huge sale at Home Depot and I just bought you a new dishwasher, it will be delivered in a few days” (oh did I mention sister in law did not KNOW our dishwasher broke), and in-laws bought a new oven for us for our anniversary. It still leaves me in awe in how God took the situation and just blessed us beyond our dreams.

Or I could talk about how a check came in the mail for no known reason when we had no more money for food, and hubby did not get paid for another 5 days.

Then the time I lost the diamond in my wedding ring. I was hysterical, praying, crying, and looking for the diamond. A needle in a haystack. Hubby was sweet saying he will get me a new one. I prayed and prayed that we would find my original diamond, I did not want a new one. Hubby was running to the store to get some milk and came walking in the house proudly with my diamond. I almost fainted. It was on the floor almost under the floor mat of my car.

Or the too many times to count where I went into a situation where the driving was going to be a nightmare, and the Lord made it real easy for me, found me a good parking space, and no worrying was needed. You see I am one of those gals who pray for parking spaces, and clear traffic. =))

There are so many times I have seen God’s hand in my life. More recently my recovery during jaw surgery. I had sweet friends that kept me going, patient people who understood my ugliness, and a boss who knew that being pampered just a bit would go a long way in my sanity. I know all of this was God keeping me going.

Like I said, my whole life is God thumb print. I pray I never lose sight of that.

That was beautiful. God tells us to trust Him. He will take care of us, even the small details. I’m a natural born worrier. So, I hang on to God’s miracles. Both big and small.

Ah yes - those God moments give you chills, don’t they. I think it is awesome that you stuck with your plan:) - God turned around and put His print on you two :).

I like those moments when we align our will go God’s will and stick with it.
Thank you for sharing your God moments. I too pray that I will never cease to see His prints in our life.

You are so prolific - and such a good writer. I have seen God’s handprint in our lives this very day. He has worked out the details of a very complicated move for us in a way I could never have imagined. He is so good. Just think of all the things He does we are totally unaware of.
Your previous post is terrific. I am living with veterans of two wars right now. I appreciate their sacrifice more than I can say.

Beautiful post about God’s goodness in our lives….God wants obedience from us. He will provide for His children. That is a reassuring Truth.

I loe when we allow od to handl our money and how He comes through so perfectly. And I know exactly what you mean about praying for good traffic and parking spaces, in fact my kids get in on it often praying for the perfect spot or that the tires would stick to the road (during snow storms). Isn’t He just so awesome!

Love your post… how beautiful and encouraging. God has come through for us in restoring our marriage after we thought it was totally hopeless. Every single day I remain in awe over that.

Now I think we’d better do like you guys did and cut up our credit cards…

I agree…my whole life has God’s thumbprints all over it…however, I still haven’t found the diamond that fell out of my engagement ring ;)

That is an awesome post. I whipped through every word, just to see what’s happened in your life, how God has touched you.

We’ve seen some amazing things, too. And I have to remember those when we go through tough times, that God is still with us. That He was there THEN and is still with us NOW.

Cool post. I’m going to remember this one. ;)

My life is a thumb print too. Most of the time, God has made His Print when I finally just give everything to Him, not depending on myself.

Yes, I also see God’s fingerprints all around me! Thank you for sharing what God has done in your life!

I tried so hard to leave a comment on this post yesterday, I think my head was squeaking. So I’m trying again. Blogger. Hmmmph!

Every event you described here is amazing, especially your husband finding your diamond.

Small miracles, large miracles…we all know where they come from, don’t we?

And I think I’m as excited about Tuesday as you are. :-)

I loved reading this, you tracing His movement through your life. We’re Dave Ramsey fans, so we use debit cards instead. When the money’s gone, it’s gone but there’s no bill coming in the mail. God always, always provides, often at the last minute so we know it’s Him and not us or anyone else.

What a great post!

Clearly, when you’re in His grip, His prints are all over you.
