What’s the Shape of Your Faith?

When we first began “What’s the Shape of Your Faith” Heather asked us to find our personality. I learned I am not a person to step out and start something new unless God gives me a direct command. Also, I am more likely to follow the rules, AND expect others to do so, and am surprised when they don’t. Most of this I “knew” but to see it in black and white confirms it. Some of the characteristics I liked some I didn’t care for so much. BUT God knows my weakness’ and can use them to His glory.

Then we reviewed our Heart’s passion. My passion is just to remind you or let you know if you forgot GOD LOVES YOU. I don’t have any grand ideas for my life, I know God can use me wherever he plants me. But I want to sit, look you in the face and tell you “Sweet sister do you know how much God loves you, warts and all?”. I want everyone to know that.

Next we moved on to discussing our abilities, this is the one I approached with much hesitation wondering where it will lead me. God spoke to me through this post. He gently reminded me that it does not matter what abilities I have, whatever He calls me to do, He will give me all I need to complete the task. This gave me peace in whatever the Lord has in store for me.

The next week I reviewed my life experiences so far. And I learned that everywhere the Lord has led me, every situation he placed me in, was to give me experience to use later in life. I need to remind myself when I am going through difficult times, that the Lord has me there for a reason. And that my difficult and pain, can be used to bring Glory to God.

Then I tackled the topic of how my style effects how I obey, worship and love God. Here we answered a series of questions and I found that some of my styles can tend to get in the way. My insecurities can hinder what God wants to do in my life. I need to rely more on the Holy Spirit power than my own.

Finally, how have you grown through this “study”?

I truly have grown through this study. It was like holding up a mirror and facing some of the things I really don’t like facing on a daily basis. But God said, look in the mirror look at the stuff you don’t like. I can change those things, just follow my lead.

Heather thank you for hosting and leading this study. It has made me think, made me move closer in my relationship with the Lord, and has given me areas to work on, where I know I am weak.

Wonderful, Laurel. As always you are very straightfoward about where you are and what He is doing. I would agree that this is exactly right on.

I am so glad that this has helped you grow. I am so excoted that the Lord has used something that I didn’t even consider a “study” when started to help such a wonderful group of ladies grow. I am amazed at thsoe of you who finished it (not all did.) Kudos to you for doing so!
