Welcome! I live in Florida and we have been having 80 degree weather here, so I thought I would pass a little of our sunshine on to all you people in colder weather. So kick off those boots, hang up the jacket, slip into some flip flops…
I will try to think up several things you may not know or weird things about me in an effort for you to know me better:
1. I hate peas, yucky yucky yucky. I have never fed my kids peas!
2. Did you know if you bring baby powder to the beach it helps get the sand off
your body before you get in the car to go home?
3. The beach is where I like to go if I run away. I don’t like to swim in the beach, that scares me. But sitting there seems to take all my worries of life away.
4. My best friend growing up was Heather, and I still talk to her via email. (not sure if she reads my blog or not, lets see if I get an email).
5. We dated brothers.
6. I became a Christian in 3rd grade by a teacher named Mrs. Heart!
7. I went to a private Christian school until I was a junior in high school.
8. Went one year to a public high school as a Senior.
9. I drove a Honda Civic while in college, that car rocked! You should see how much stuff I could pack into that little car.
10. I can pretty much cry and get out of speeding tickets. But I have to be careful now that my own brother is a cop, sigh…
11. I got a big teddy bear about the size of a small dog, from a boyfriend. I kept that teddy bear until I got married (got rid of the boyfriend though =).
12. If my kitchen is clean then my house feels clean, if my kitchen is dirty then my WHOLE house feels dirty. Kind of weird, but I can not stand a dirty kitchen, but yet can put up with a dirty living room/bedroom, etc.. go figure.
113. I LOVE JESUS WITH ALL MY HEART!
I look forward to meeting more people and joining you at your ultimate blog party, thank you for visiting I hope you do so again. Here are two sites to visit daily also…
On Saturday’s you will find me here…

And twice a month here:
Be sure to visit all other party people located here. This will be going on until March 9th.

You signed in two in front of me, so I had to come over and say hi!
Great party.
Girl, you rock. You even brought a little beach to me. My favorite place on earth. So, ask me again why I live in the desert. Ah yes, my Sweetheart…
Great tip about the baby powder–have to remember that :). Oh, you don’t like peas. I am sorry, but that is my favorite veggie.
Glad you got rid of you boyfriend when you got married (hehe).
Thank you for being such a wonderful party hostess.
BTW - how was the dinner last night?
Blessings to you and yours.
You throw a beautiful party–my favorite kind of weather! My sisters and I will be in Marco Island for a girls weekend away at the beach….next weekend! It’s a beautiful place!
Enjoying this party hopping! Thanks for the great welcome….I’ll be back!
Diane
Hi Laurel
Your party sight looks great! I’m in Florida too, love the warmth and the pictures of your beaches (which one do you go to, my fave is Siesta Key near Sarasota), you gave me some ideas for my party post. Hope that is OK, THANKS!!
Hi Laurel, fellow floridian here! And I have to agree my favorite is Siesta Key - my hubby took me there for our honeymoon!!! It’s the most beautiful beach in the world!
80 degrees? I covet your weather. We are 39 degrees and flooding. Very interesting list. I always enjoy learning new things about my fellow bloggers
Hi, It is nice to meet you. My name is Carey and I too love the beach. What a beautiful picture. I never knew that about the baby powder, I will have to try that next time. I live in NY and its cold, and there is white stuff all over, so thanks for inviting me to the beach.
Love the pictures!
I didn’t know that about sand and baby powder. Peas aren’t my favorite, but I can eat them. Lima beans are another story!
Thanks for having us over!
Laurel Wreath….I just like you, I just DO. Reading this little list gave me even MORE reason for some (silly) reason.
Got to re-establish my blog hoppin’ to move you “up” in my rotation. Actually, I find, the “easier” blogs to visit (quickly) are the ones that don’t make me think.
Yours makes me think. That’s a GOOD thing :).
Thanks for the beach tips, I never heard that about baby powder before.
I’ve never heard the baby powder tip! I came for details on the big dinner last night!
How can you not like peas, girlfriend?
Sing it with me now…
All we are saying…is give peas a chance…
Too fun. And hey, our snow is MELTING!!!! We have green stuff showing through!!!! Wooohoo!!!
We use the baby powder thing when I cut hair, never thoguht of using it for beach sand. Hmmm.
Lets see if it lets me comment.
A party on a sunny, warm beach is a great break from Colorado’s winter!
How does the baby powder work?
Fellow pea hater here too…
Hi Laurel! Just stopping in to say hello! Thanks for the beach…I needed that!
Happy Partying!
Hey Laurel!! Oh. I. Love. The. Beach. AND FLORIDA! I grew up there and horribly miss the beach. I had no idea about the baby powder, either, so, that’s good info.
Did you read Terri’s comment…give peas a chance…HA!
See you around the party…I will be keeping an eye out for the girl in flip flops. I am so jealous!
And I thought I had it good with 65-70 degree temps the last several days! Thanks for having us over and providing a good beach tip in addition to the lovely weather.
I am so with you on the clean house thing, but around here it has too be clean bathrooms or I feel like the house is dirty.
I just love the beach and watching the sea too. I could do with some sun though! Roll on warm weather.
Waaaaaaaahhhhhh! 80 degrees… Oh to get a mid 60’s-70s would be lu-ver-ly.
And LeSeur peas are some of my favorite vegables.
I really love this list, you make me smile.
A beach party! Yay! Thanks for all the tips about dealing with sand and surf and shore, not that I’ll ever get to use them. LOL
Great party, Laurel.
Just saying Hi!!! Great party!
Saying hello from the Ultimate Blog Party! You lucky girl having that warm weather now. I am covered in snow. ;(
Hi Laurel-Great tip about the baby powder & the beach. I have never heard that before. It must work for the playground sand too, right?
Blessings on this day & always-
Jennifer
Interesting facts. It’s been lovely and warm down here in Texas as well. The baby powder tip is great, we use that one too.
It’s crazy… we live so close to the beach, yet only go about once a year if that. *blush*
Fun party! Visit mine if you get a chance.
I have lurked on your blog for a while, but the party is perfect for saying hello! I had no idea about the baby powder. Thanks for the tip!
Hi! Visiting for the party. Nice to meet you! I too HATE peas, so I never fed it to my kids either because the smell made me sick! As they got older, for some reason, they developed a taste for split pea soup, go figure!
oh I always enjoy my visits here, and the party is no different. Thanks for the awesome weather and better hospitality. Blessings to you!
Yup, it’s in the lower 80s here too. Isn’t it nice?
Just making the party rounds and wanted to stop by and say hi.
I’ll be back again during the week.
When you get a chance, stop by and check out the book giveaway!
Aloha!
Okay, now I’m thinking you are bragging about the whole 80 degree weather thing! :)) And how about your MAD SKILLS with the name in the swimming pool and all that!
As if I weren’t impressed already…:))
Love ya!
and btw..that’d better not be you on that party barge or i’ll just have to pray for forgiveness for my covetousness..:))
I enjoy reading your blog daily…I love your party mood. I love flordia very pretty!
Hey, Miss Laurel. So glad to know so many will get to see what I already know from my daily stop-by: your blog is THE place to be! *wink*
Your blog is awesome! Nice to meet ya.
Linda
Nice to meet you! I’m a fellow pea-hater.
Enjoyed purusing your site!
Loved Florida when I traveled as therapist. Located in Pt.Charlotte but visited all over while there!
Enjoy your party this week! I will be back!
Stacey
80 degrees sounds so wonderful right now. It is freezing were I am. We have had hi winds and snow showers all day.
I’m thinking warm weather just reading your blog.
Plus, it has been a blessing to get to know you better. Thank you for sharing. I hate peas too!
Hi nice to meet you

Happy Party! We have a place near Apalachicola and we love to get away to it. Just don’t get the chance to as often as we like. I’m glad to meet you and will be checking back with you to get to know you better!
Cool little graphics you got going on! I am so not worthy of your bloggy friendship! Thanks for stopping by. I read you almost everyday…although I don’t always comment. You know this girl from TN loves ya! Congrats on the team blog.
Baby powder?? What a great tip! Funny that you and your friend dated brothers. That’s much better than me - *I* dated brothers - three of them over several years and ended up marrying one!
LOL! I remember the crying to get out of a ticket thing. And I would love to be in Florida right now! *Sigh*
Making the party rounds. Have a great party week!
Thanks for stopping by today and every other time you stop by! I love reading your blog!
Can you send some of that warm weather just a little North to ‘Bama? I’m tired of the cold!!!
Oh, that beach looks nice.
Okay, completely agree about the dirty kitchen thing. It’s the key to the whole house looking better.
I had a Honda CRX in high school and college, and let me tell you that I could load that sucker down.
I wish I was there in Florida with you now! How come I never heard of the Java cafe before? I’ll have to check it out!
BTW, you’re invited to my party at Portrait of a Writer…Interrupted! Hope to see you there!
Ohhhh, to be at the beach right now. I may visit you often over the next week just to picture myself sitting on the warm sand and listening to the sounds.
I am with you on the kitchen. It’s amazing how when the kitchen is clean all of a sudden everything else does not look so bad.
I love the beach theme!! I ‘featured’ you as one of my favorite four parties =)
Great party! (And I loved the P&G letter you sent fiddldeedee!) Stop in at my place any time.
Nice to get to know you a little. I never knew about the baby powder. Thanx. We drove a brown Honda Civic before we had our kids. I LOVED that car. I always thought it looked like a roller skate.
Hey, thanks for the beach photos!
Oh, Laurel, I love peas. You don’t know what you are missing. I also have a need for my kitchen to be clean. Laundry can pile up but if the kitchen is clean all is right with the world.
Thanks for visiting my party.
Your blog is absolutely beautiful. Thanks for the warm welcome and warm weather
Although I’m in NC, you still have better weather than us!
Lisa B.
I know what you mean about the kitchen. If people come round, I don’t mind them seeing mess anywhere except the kitchen! Better go and shine that sink then…
Just party hopping! Nice to meet you. If you get the chance, please stop by my place for some virtual coffee. Psrty on!
~TaunaLen
LW, So excited that you too drove a HOnda Civic in College b/c I did as well! I loved that car-cost me 9 dollars to fill up and that would last me FOREVER! WOW! You have lot of comments…enjoy the visits
I appreciate you sharing the sunshine! Now may I offer you some of the 3 feet of snow we got here in the last week? Have a wonderful party!
Thanks for the party invite.
I’m here quite often, but I enjoyed getting to know you better at your party! Thanks for being a great hostess!
Feel free to drop in at my party — plenty to eat, lots to go around.
Nice to meet you, thanks for inviting us to your blog.
Have a great party week!
Hi Laurel….I am sooo jealous that you live in Florida…..I am getting pretty tired of snow already…your party rocks….thanks for sharing!
Blessings
OHHHHH - the beach sounds soooo nice! But I wouldn’t swim in Florida either - too scary!
I DID NOT know that about the baby powder!! Do you put it on at the end when you are trying to dust off the sand?
I always enjoy coming by your place, Laurel. Nice to see you at the party… and I’m trying to pretend that I’m enjoying your warm weather…especially since it’s currently 22 degrees and snowing where I am!
Yaaay! A beach party! I didn’t bring my swimsuit, but I’d rather listen to the waves than splash around in them. I didn’t know that about baby powder, and I don’t happen to have any with me. Can I use yours?
Oh, and I’m laughing at Terri’s comment. “Give peas a chance” - good one! If ya gotta eat ‘em, LeSeur is the best.
My husband was a scout leader and we had a scout who would NOT NOT NOT eat Peas, but you never asked why because apparently it was all a bit gross!
you are the life of the party Laurel!!! Thanks for visiting mine, and as usual, your’s is a blast!!!

Thanks for stopping by my party & I’m glad to join in on yours, too.
Please be sure to check out my fun Bump! Photo Tag going on! Hope you’d like to play along and post your favorite pregnant belly pic!

I hear ya on the kitchen being clean thing. That’s the first place i clean up so then i feel like the whole house is not spotless per se but decent.
Beautiful blog! Thanks for sharing a bit of yourself with us.
Although…..I LOVE peas! Especially straight from my own garden.
Party at the beach?! Lovely. I don’t get to the beach near as much as I would like. We’ve got a lot of sand around here but the beach is just too far away.
Love dropping by your place. Always give me a lift.
Love your site. Very soothing and calm! I love the beach-thanks for the photos–I am hoping to get to Pensacola this summer. I am marking your blog site to visit later when I have time to read! I cant wait to visit the cafe-that sounds pretty neat! Have a Blessed Week.
I’ve been visiting some of the other ladies in the Ultimate Blog Party and wanted to say “Hi!”. The beach sure looks wonderful — it’s still cold and wintery here, lots of snow on the ground.
It’s very nice to meet you =)
I used to hate peas, but then one day, all of a sudden I loved them! Who knows why really.
Anyway thanks for being a part of the party!
