My Dad with my youngest child several years ago.
My Thursday Thirteen is about my Dad…. (yes we share birthdays)
1. When I think of my Dad I think of a fashion trend setter, who else would wear socks with their sandals at all times. (you knew this had to be my #1 Dad!)
2. Dad anticipation of Thanksgiving dinner falls second only to his anticipation of seeing the coming Christ.
3. Dad is an excellent Sunday School teacher for young kids.
4. Dad helped me win every year in my Science Projects (thanks Dad).
5. When I think of my Dad I think of someone who is gentle, quiet, thoughtful . You know when he gives you advice he thought through it first.
6. Dad is an excellent example of how a man should be a husband.
7. My sister and I thought we would never find men to marry that could even begin to compare to our Dad.
8. I am proud of my Dad because late in life he has been exercising more and more, and taking care of himself.
9. Dad will always have his bowl of ice cream, no matter what the temperature it is outside. One of my childhood memories is Dad with his bowl of ice cream while having a blanket surrounding his shoulders, and socks covering his feet.
10. Dad has the best dry sense of humor, sometimes if you are not listening you miss it. But he can get me laughing until I am crying.
11. While growing up, Dad has alway been there to rescue me when I have dug myself into a hole; and he has (and continues to be) my biggest cheerleader.
12. Dad is a great grandpa to my kids. I think he only put up with me so he can become a grandpa (that is ok, I don’t mind).
13. Last but not least, there is NO ONE IN THIS WORLD who I would rather share my birthday with.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!!
