EXTRA EXTRA READ ALL ABOUT IT: Today is “manly man’s” big 35th birthday

(and yes my son’s birthday was yesterday).

I tried to have them on the same day (since my birthday is on my Dad’s, but the Drs. could not do the c-section that day) Oh well…
13 of my favorite memories and things I like about “manly man”:

1. When we were dating in college “manly man” use to write me the most beautiful poems and leave them on my car (melted me like butter) .

2. The day you were baptised. He was baptised as an adult, and I cried like a baby.

3. Watching him as a father. He is such a “hands on” father and I appreciate that everyday.

4. Our trip to Savannah this summer. We acted like two dating teenagers again, and remembered that we truly are each other’s best friend.

5. I love the fact that he laughs the hardest at his own jokes. No matter if the joke is funny or not, you can not help but laugh because he is cracking himself up.

6. He works hard for his family. He has been hit with tough times in the past, but came out “on top” because of his hard work and perseverance.

7. He has the cutest dimples around (or as his Dad says ‘indentations’ )

8. He is my rock. I am the emotional one of the family (I know, not surprising since I am the only female here), but the Lord gave me “manly man” to keep me steady.

9. His nickname for me since we began dating has been “beautiful”. Self imagine was something I struggled with, so the Lord blessed me with a man who each day, no matter if I was the heaviest I had ever been, or the skinniest….he always calls me “beautiful”.

10. He has raised my boys to call me “pretty mommy” and is strick in how the boys treat me or talk to me.

11. He loves to travel just as much as I do. This year alone, we have gone to Minnesota, then will go to Arizona, and then to Baltimore; oh yeah, and we went to Savannah. We would do all this every year if it was possible.

12. He became a Christian as an adult, and I have seen God work in wonderful ways in “manly man’s” Christian walk.

Finally….

13. There is never a time when we are together that we are not having fun. I still get excited when I know he is on his way home, I hate it when we part for the day. He is my favorite person in this world.

Your husband sounds like a real treasure. My husband and I were baptised together a few years back, such a great experience. Mine also calls me Beautiful - isnt that just the best when you feel like a mess? Sounds like he’s a keeper. Sweet list.
