Thankful Thursday

by Lori

A man loves his sweetheart the most, his wife the best, but his mother the longest.
~Irish Proverb

1. I am thankful for laughter. Sometimes life gets to me, and I just need to stop and laugh.

2. I am thankful I had some quality time with my middle son, it does not happen as often as it should. He does not say “I love you’s” easily and he does not seek you out, you have to seek him out even though he likes spending time with you. But last night I got to spend some quality time laughing with my middle son, snuggled up in bed.

3. I am thankful I have a husband who likes to chase my bad clouds away. Sometimes it can drive me crazy because I am in the wrong mood, but he does it to get me out of my funk and for that I am grateful.

4. I am thankful I am getting new carpet tomorrow.

5. I am going to borrow a term from Iris, some of you gals have really “Stung My Heart” I weep when you weep, I worry when things are hitting you hard, and I pray fervently for you when things are not right. Who would have known such relationships could develop over a blog. Thank you Lord that we have others that will go before the throne for us.

Now head on over to Sting My Heart, Iris is our wonderful host.

Laughter is wonderful especially when it is shared with someone that you love. I’m glad you were able to share that special time with your son. Have a wonderful week!

I love your Thankful Thursdays. I especially like #3. I’m kind of in a funk right now and my hubby always helps bring me out of mine :)

Wonderful list! Your middle boy sounds like my oldest daughter and I too am thankful for those moments with her when they happen. And #5 is so true, isn’t it?

A great list to be thankful for. I too love to laugh and my husband usually is up for the humor, which is why we make a good time since I tend to be more serious.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

What a great list Laurel…we also use laughter to ease the tension that builds up in our home….my daughter just bought my hubby a woopie cushion for his birthday…..and you know what…..it never gets old…..I am also very thankful for my blogger friends who encourage me every single day…
Blessings on your day!

You know, Laurel, although we are not perfect and sometimes we just plain mess up, our families forgive us.
I love approaching the throne for my sisters in faith. It is a huge privilege!
God is good – all the time, even through our times of tribulations.

Thank you so much for sharing your thankfulness with us this week.

Blessings to you and yours…

Your post brought back the conversations I have been having with my middle child … a 16 yo, 6 foot 3 SON! Your post actually made me cry and I thank you for that … happy tears!!

You have a beautiful, refreshing blogsite! I enjoyed reading your thankful list. I am also eternally thankful for my husband!

Is there a website you can direct me to that can educate me on how to make a beautiful blog?

Thanks for reading my blog!

What a great list. This is why I love blogland so much, I get inspired everyday and I know what you mean about praying for others. I often find myself praying over each and everyone of my friends here. Have a blessed weekend, (I plan to…hubby is away and i have the house to myself!)

Barb March 16, 2007 at 2:38 pm

It sounds corny, but laughter really is the best medicine. If you can laugh, it’s impossible to be in a down mood.

Lovely list, especially the last one, which is so, so true. :-)

How funny – you and Bev and getting new carpet on the same day!

Kate March 17, 2007 at 9:22 am
