To My Knight In Shining Armor….

I’d be locked in a tower
or hidden underground.
The dragon would keep me hostage,
while the vampire would keep me bound.

Then the knight in shining armor
on his gallant white horse.
He would use his sword
and take me by force.

I’d think of the adventures we’d have,
of the love we might share
the happiness between us,
the wonderfully sweet care.

This knight never had a face
never had a name.
He was always fuzzy.
It was always the same.

Then on that cold moon-lit night,
you fell from the sky.
Wondering what was next,
you ventured into my eye

That night while thinking,
I noticed something new.
The picture was clear,
my knight in shining armor was you!

The adventure better then I had imagined them to be,
the love much stronger.
The wonderfully sweet caring greater,
the happiness lasting much longer

I’ve realized now
that you are my one,
my knight in shining armor,
And that, my love, can never be undone.

That was 13 years ago September 25th.

To My Knight:Thank you for slaying dragons these 13 years, thank you for your tenderness after hard, long, fought battles and long days in the battlefield, thank you for your perseverance in making the home front safe and Godly. Thank you for raising young “knights-to-be” and preparing them to be the best they can be. I know with the two of us together and Jesus as our guide, nothing will be impossible the many years ahead.
Love eternally yours,

Your sweet maiden.

How I met "manly man"….

Barb at A Chelsea Morning is at it again, first is was the name of our blog and now ”
HOW I MET THE LOVE OF MY LIFE”. All I have to say is BARB you are soo creative, I love these ideas.

How I meet my “manly man”:

The simple answer is we went to the same college and lived in the same dorm. The more detailed version is:

I was in love with another. This “another” I have been chasing since 3rd grade, so this was not just “another” it was a “this maybe my forever ‘another’ “. Well things were not panning out as I had hoped with the guy I thought I was in love with. My feelings were stronger than his feelings. So I had a major broken heart. Looking at another guy to date was not even in my mind. I was done with guys for awhile.

Well I moved into a co-ed dorm. Girls on one side, guys on the other. Manly Man was on the men’s 3rd floor and I was on the girls 3rd floor, and for some reason all the guys on 3rd floor hung out with all the girls on 3rd floor. Manly Man was one of those “life of the party” kind of guys, I was more shy. My girlfriend at the time really liked him. I think both of us were just having fun hanging out and flirting. Manly Man and I became friends. Friends that flirted, but still only friends. I found we could talk for long periods of time, I would come to him for my boy troubles. Told him about my broken heart, and my love loss over “another”.

I loved being with him, he became my best friend. We always were in a group when we hung out. As the year was coming to a close, he had to go back to Virgina and I had to go back to Arizona. I remember talking to my sister and Mom saying, “manly man is sooo nice, I really enjoy him, I am just not attracted to him”. During the summer we racked up the long distant phone bills, he made “tapes” for me of songs that reminded him of me. He wrote me letters, etc…

The next school year I was moving into an all girls dorm that had nicer rooms. I drove up with my car packed, ready to carry everything into my dorm room. I had my sister with me. Manly man was already settled in; came over and was helping me move my stuff in. Sister (for the first time seeing manly man) took one look at him and said “HE IS HOT!!!”. I took one look at my sister and narrowed my eyes and said, “HE’S MINE!!”. And I guess like they say, the rest is history.

From then on manly man and I were an “item”. We dated for 3 years before he proposed to me during my Senior year of college. And I do have to agree with my sister, even after 12 years of marriage, he is still “hot”.
