Soap box time…

in Blog

I take a step back to meditate on things, reflect, and spend time in the word. Then the Lord floods my mind with things to say (which can be a dangerous thing, huh Mom):

I can not begin to tell you how much I have been blessed by you guys out there. My heavens, when it rains it pours. I am literally sitting here shaking my head at how this silly technology has blessed me beyond my imagination. The women I am developing friendships with are truly feeling like my sisters in Christ. I don’t even know if I could explain it to a non-blogger, except maybe my husband because he sees the joy you all bring to my corner of the world here.

Some people, and yes some friends have been hurt and wounded by being part of blog world (and don’t sit there and guess who I am talking about because you probably are not right, and that is not the point of the message); unfortunately I guess that is par for the course in putting yourself out there.

And there definitely needs to be safe guards put in place (kids pictures, real names, etc..) This is the same thing as locking your door before you go to bed at night. You are not guaranteed that nothing will happen, but you do your best to prevent it.

This is true in meeting with different people. Some people you click with some you don’t, this is true among Christians. I don’t think it should be taken personally if two Christians don’t see eye to eye on things, we differ in our ministry. God made us different so we can reach different kind of people.

Some peoples ministry is to strengthen the people who are already Christians and spur them on, some peoples ministry is to go to the ends of the earth and preach the gospel, and some peoples ministry is to tell people about Christ in their everyday life. Paul not only spread the gospel, he strengthen the church. This should be our mission also.

I can’t reach some people you can reach (due to life experiences) and visa versa. I can only be responsible for what God called me to do, I am faithful to where he leads me. As Christians we should look at one another and say, “Oh good, you have that area you can minister in, I have this area; may we both make a difference for His Kingdom.”

These different areas should not be a division among Christians. And believe me when I say…..we each have an area of ministry that is different for each one of us. I even look at my own sister, she has such a powerful ministry in her life experiences, areas that I could not even begin to minister to others in; her ministry is different than mine. I praise God we each have different areas, that way we can spread the gospel more efficiently.

Just don’t let the difference divide us.

Ok stepping off my soap box…carry on. Have a great day!!!!
