Monday Ramblings

This was a fun and filled weekend. Friday was my husband’s office Christmas party, which is not that exciting. It is a family affair and for the kids Santa comes in and brings them a gift. It was very cool to see my 8 year old still excited, wanting to be up there right by Santa. But sad because it was my oldest son’s last year for being invited to “visit” with Santa. The rest of us had a nice dinner and heard about the status of the company. We are blessed because the company my husband works for is run by Christian men.

Then on Saturday my boss took manly man and I to see the off-broadway play
of Lion King. It was really awesome. The hard work they put into the play really shows. The costumes were amazing, and the talent was awesome.

I am not much of a “play” person, but this was awesome. If you get a chance to see it, go do it.

Then Sunday night a friend and I went to see the movie Nativity. I bawled like a baby, it was a good movie. They do a good job in showing the humanity part of the story. I want to take my kids to see this movie. In fact the youth leaders are taking a group of kids to the movie later in the week.

Well today is a new week, it is almost Christmas, I have laundry up to my elbows (as soon as I get caught up, I then see their laundry baskets are full again. Does anyone else feel this defeated? Like you are never making headway?…sigh), each of my kids have big projects to work on and I still have some wrapping to complete.

Psalms 3:5
In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my requests before you
and wait in expectation.

Psalms 143:8
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,
for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go,
for to you I lift up my soul.

So how was your weekend?

Sounds like you had a splendid weekend :). I so want to see ‘The Nativity’, but know that I have to wait until it comes out on DVD. We don’t go to the movies anymore…

You know, Psalm 143 is my favorite Psalm? I read it all the time when I am down.

My weekend — well lets just says full of tears, laundry and some quality time with my Sweetheart…

Blessings on your Monday and always.

Sounds like a fun weekend. Mine was pretty good too, getting ready for Christmas. And yes, I never seem to make any headway with laundry. I think it reproduces in the hamper. Except the socks.

Oh wow! What a great weekend you had!
And how cool that your hubby’s boss took you both to see that show!

I SO, SO want to see The Nativity! I’m hoping some time next week…

(Oh, and SO glad you remember Evie!) ;)

Wow! So much fun and so little time!
You’ll have to stop by and see what my weekend was like! But I hope to tackle as much as I can too this week!
Blessings!

We went to see “The Lion King” in nashville several weeks ago. It WAS amazing! My kids were enthralled. Love your blog.

The Lion King and the Nativity in one weekend? Sounds like a wonderful weekend to me! I’d like to take my kids to the nativity too.

I loved the Lion King. I didn’t think I would like it and I couldn’t imagine how they would make it interesting (being that it is taken from a cartoon), but it was a beautiful show.
I agree with you on the laundry. Some days I think I could drown in the amount of laundry we have. Just when I think I’m caught up, bam…there it is again.
I hope you have a wonderful week and try to find some time for yourself (that doesn’t have anything to do with laundry:D)

I, too, crammed a whole lot of fun into a small amount of weekend. (Just like the clothes crammed into the hamper… I’m climbing Mt. Clothesmore right there with ya…)

I’m glad you had a good weekend. I’m praying you have a blessed week!

Oh, yes, we saw The Nativity Story this past weekend also. Quite good and I thought it was culturally accurate as well. Makes the story come alive, doesn’t it?

You were a busy lady over the weekend. My Hubby’s company has had so many cutbacks, no Christmas party this year.

Thanks for sharing from the Psalms~they speak to every need.

Blessings to you.

btw-LOVE your new look!

P.S. I’ve added you to my blogroll ~ hope that was OK.

I really want to see The Nativity. People Magazine did an unfavorable review recently but just the photos I saw make me want to see it. I don’t take the reviewers’ opinions seriously anyway. This is one movie I really wouldn’t mind spending the money to go see.

What a great weekend you had. I spent part of mine with my mom and the other part making gifts in a jar.

Your weekend was a really nice one. So was ours - with the church Christmas program.
I am going to try to fit “The Nativity” into the busy weeks we have coming up. If I make enough headway with the packing, I’ll give myself an afternoon off and go. Thanks for the good review.
I love your blog, and the idea for the first week in January is wonderful. Hopefully, we’ll be settled into our apartment by then and I’ll have my computer hooked up:)
Have a blessed week.
