Joni Lamb’s Surrender All: Your Answer to Living with Peace, Power & Purpose was not a book for me personally. The whole basis is that a person needs to surrender their lives wholeheartedly to God. As a television icon, Lamb shares some of her own personal stories. She notes not selling her first television studio to rich and secular buyers, and she instead sold it for a lesser price to a religious buyer. Later though, she sells another studio to NBC for a whopping $76 million. But she does mention later that she donated a percentage to charity.
There are stories of pain, terrible circumstances, etc.. but in the end they are all written with happy endings. I am not saying that these miracles and healing did not take place, but everything is sugar coated. It has the feel of “if you have enough faith” then you will have a happy ending also.
