With one solved case under her belt, Sugar is ready to dive into her career as a private investigator. Or at least a PI’s assistant until she can prove herself to Jeremy Kane, her new boss. When she takes on her first official case-house-sitting for a witness in protective custody-Jeremy assures her there’s no danger involved. But it soon becomes clear that there is someone after the witness . . . and now they’re after PJ, too.
Double Trouble is the second of Susan May Warren’s PJ Sugar series. I reviewed the first book Nothing But Trouble and enjoyed it. I love Susan May Warren books, in fact I have another one sitting right here beside me that I can not wait to begin, but I had trouble getting into this book. There were some great themes in Double Trouble and you see PJ Sugar growing and changing, but the enjoyable parts did not happen until you reached the end of the book. I do want to read the third book in this 3 book series because I want to know how everything ends for PJ Sugar. Also, I look forward to many more of Susan May Warren books, unfortunately this one is not one of her best. Maybe my whole perspective will change when I read the final book and it wraps everything together.
