Football Follies

by Lori

I spent my Saturday staring at this:

First was my youngest game, which they won!

Some serious discussions

Good game honey.

I love cheerleaders, I believe every team needs them. What I don’t like

is when this is my only view because we are on a field with no stands.

We pause for a Gatorade break.

There much better. Now we have middle son’s game. Which by the way we won. This is him kicking off at the beginning of the game.

Here is middle son looking up at coach.

Sometimes he sits down on the job, just like at home.

Huh? What did you say coach?

We pause for a cool “artsy” picture as my husband calls them.

Oh good middle son back on the attack. Good game honey, you made two more field goals. (he has yet to miss this year =) says proud momma.)

Oh thirsty again? Here is another Gatorade break.

Now we have oldest son. Who won his game also (see a theme here?)

It began to rain, but that did not deter #80.

Yep that would be my baby on the ground.

The sun began to set on the day.

But all ended well, the temperature was BEAUTIFUL, and all three boys won!

  • Holy cow Laurel! And to think that I spent my Saturday watching football on tv... At least I had a great view and instant replay.

(And just to make an enemy or 5000, I have to respectfully disagree about cheerleaders. Though they start off cute and modest, by the time it's high school, the uniforms are much more distracting than the cheers. Don't get me started about the suggestive routines that they perform on the collegiate and professional level!

I can't help but rejoice that when I was watching some games on Saturday, my son walked by and said, "Mom! Those girls aren't being modest!" and then he turned away. Talk about scoring big points! That was the best play of the day.)

  • I loved the pictures Laurel. They brought back great memories of watching our son play football. I must admit, there are some friday nights I wish we still had a game to go to. It just isn't the same when your son isn't playing!
  • That is AWESOME!!! So glad that you and all of your boys had such a wonderful day! Congrats to all of them!
  • Wonderful–I am glad it is you and not me though. Watching football all day would make my complaining gland swell.

  • Laurel...did you hold your breath? I know the games have a bit of "mommy tension" that they might not have had a couple of weeks ago...the LORD is there on the FIELD!
I have thought of you several times over the weekend. Hope yours has been good! I KNOW it was BUSY! The pictures are sooo good.
Keep April in your prayers...she will be delivering her new baby boy on Tuesday!
