Just some of my ramblings…

by Lori

Just like the rest of you, life has been crazy. I think everyone in my family woke up tired this morning. Yesterday my Mother In Law had eye surgery, straight from there it was picking the kids up from school (two different schools), then run home to complete homework then off to three soccer games. Then back home for dinner, finish studying, then kids to bed. I collapsed.

Ever have one of those days that it is the “little things” that seem to push you off the edge. I was in a pretty good mood, but it seemed no matter how hard I tired I either forgot something and had to go back, or a child forgot their homework at school. Just the little things. Uggggg. That was my day yesterday. And of course the Lord has been stomping on me, convicting me, talking to me through different messages I have been either listening to or reading.

So THANK GOD IT IS FRIDAY!! I only have one errand after the kid’s school, and then we are going to be bums tonight and just enjoy being home. Yea!!!

I have bunch of posts to catch up on, I am in the middle of a good book, and I need to go to bed early. Saturday I am going to begin the task to making sure my house is perfect by Tuesday.

This is where I need your prayers. Next Tuesday we have what is called a Broker’s Open House. There are a few houses in my neighborhood, and a couple behind us…the realtor’s are getting together to have an open house for brokers to view the house. My Realtor is even having a cash drawing for anyone who shows up at my house. Each house will be hosting a different food, so basically if you go to each house you have a free lunch. I know these are not the people to buy the house, but it is important to make an impression because they are the ones to suggest your house to others. I even made a hair cut apt for my doggie, so he will be out of the house all day =))

I can not believe summer is almost here, I am finding myself filling out all the forms for summer camps, and mission trips. I enjoy summer, and I have a enjoyable summer ahead of me (hopefully it involes moving), but it is hard to believe in a month my kids are out of school. The school schedule changes this next year, so basically the kids get an extra month of summer. They normally begin school at the beginning of Aug., it has been changed and they will begin at the end.

Have a happy Friday, enjoy it no matter how your day seems to be going.

Laurel, I have to admit...I have no clue what happened to the first 3 1/2 months of this year. All of the sudden I find myself in the middle of April *sigh*...I have to catch up on a lot of blog reading this weekend. So my weekend is full--but I know it will be a blessing for me. No time to read my Beth Moore book though...and I thought I would have more time when Daniel would work full-time *double sigh*

Anyway, I am babbling. I will put your name on my laptop calendar to pray for you on Tuesday. I hope that all will go well. Free lunch for the Realtor - huh, I guess I am in the wrong profession *grin*...

Blessings on your weekend and always.

    First time visitor...

I can assure you that your Broker's open will pay off! I am an Associate Broker/Realtor and I can't tell you how many times I've had an "open" where the Realtor will say, "I know just the person for this house!"

Sometimes, we can't see all the houses on the market and the MLS photos don't do it justice, so offering FREE FOOD to get them out is a wonderful way to get their foot in the door! We love to eat!

Best of luck to ya---actually, I don't believe in luck...your home will sell in God's timing!

    Nice to meet ya!

brookers=brokers??? AHHHH. I et it. Couldn';t figure out who these brooker people were and what they had to do with selling ones house. Of course when we sold ours we were in Mass. where they called them "brok-ahs". Our neighbors in Mass. were from PA like us (so the hubby called roofs ruffs (like a dog)) and she called cars-caws but they visied Florida every year where every one pronounces things even more differently and one day she was watching some kids play ball when the ball rolled out into the road and one of the kids ran afer it. A car was coming so she shouted "Look out! A Caw, a caw!" whereupon they stopped and stared at her having absolutely no clue why she was yelling about a caw but it kept from running in front of the car.

I don't know why I shared that though maybe it will give you a giggle in the midst of all this stuff. HAve a blessed weekend. Praying already.

You're right - the brokers are really, really important in this process. Very smart of you to book the doggie for the spa - I definitely would have done that, too.

How fun the kids (and you) get that extra month this summer. Sounds like you're all just about totally ready for a break.

    I'll be praying next Tuesday.

And by the way, I'm knee deep in The Fire - my word, thank you for sending me this book. It's interferring with blogging because I can't seem to put it down for more than ten minutes, but this book really grabs you.

Have a wonderful weekend. Relax. Yeah, right, but do try. :-)
