I Love Fall Giveaway – Day 5

by Lori

For those of you just joining us don’t forget to visit Day 1, 2, 3, & 4.

Did you enter Crystal’s giveaway? If you didn’t, go now we will wait… Ok, now for the final day, day 5. The giveaways will be open to enter until September 9th.

I do have to mention there is a server upgrade going on with my blog, beginning September 5th. I am told it is done in the evening and it will only take my blog off-line for approximately 30 to 40 minutes. So don’t worry if you come here and the blog is down, just be patient while they are upgrading my server. Most likely you won’t even notice.

Every day this week I had a giveaway here on my site. Also I highlighted a new blogger who hosted a giveaway on her site! So you had the opportunity to enter two giveaways. That is at least two chances to win.

You have until September 9th to enter, I will be announcing the winners on the 10th. Good luck to everyone, but my main goal was to introduce you to some fine women and hopeful you met some others along the way.

Fine print: Only enter each giveaway once. Giveaways are for everyone unless it says (US and Canada only). You do not need a blog to enter, just a valid email. All winners will be announced here Wednesday, September 10th. You will be able to enter each giveaway until September 9th.

LysaYou may have heard the name Lysa TerKeurst. Officially she is:

….an award-winning author of 11 books including her latest, “What Happens When Women Say Yes to God.” She has been featured on Focus on the Family, Family Life Today, Good Morning America, Woman’s Day Magazine, “O” Magazine and on the Oprah Show.

She is the co-host of the Proverbs 31 Ministry’s national radio program, which airs daily on over 1,200 stations as well as a writer for the ministry’s e-mail devotions called “Encouragement for Today,” reaching more than 210,000 subscribers every day.

Unofficially, I have found Lysa the most humble, sweet, wonderful woman God has laid in my path. I as so nervous about asking her if she wanted to join me in this “I Love Fall Giveaway.” Honestly, I don’t know where I got the nerve; when I hit “send” on the email I was cringing thinking, what did I just do. Less than a day later I got an email from Lysa not only saying “YES” but asking how she could help. I sat there looking at the response knowing God took my wish and blew it out of the water.

What Lysa does not know is when I first began blogging and met my wonderful friend Iris at Sting My Heart, one of the first gifts I received was her book “Living Life on Purpose.” I spent many days waiting for my oldest son in the school parking lot reading her book. Now the well worn book sits with book markings where I have underlined and bookmarked many pages. It is a book I refer back to. My favorite quote in her book “Living Life on Purpose” is:

“Just because something sounds like a worthy cause does not mean it is part of God’s plan for me.” I have that quote stapled on my heart. I have a tendency to over plan my life; when I do I pray this sentence and try to let the Holy Spirit guide me.

Lysa TerKeurst is hosting a wonderful giveaway on her blog, one you don’t want to miss. I am amazed at what she is putting up as a giveaway, head on over and visit her here. Then come back for more….
___________________________________________________________

bookNot only is Lysa hosting a wonderful giveaway on her blog, but if you don’t win there then you have an opportunity to win a signed book from Lysa here on my blog. Lysa has graciously offered one of my readers a signed copy of “Living Life on Purpose.” I am so excited to be able to offer this up to you! My prayer is that you will enjoy and mark up the book just as I have.

To win a signed copy of “Living Life on Purpose” by Lysa TerKeurst give me the title of one of her blog posts.

Lysa's blog is the first one I read every morning. My favorite of her blog posts was one she wrote in June called, "Running toward a dream with one unfortunate hair-do." It's my favorite because God used it to personally encourage me. I re-read it a lot.

    Happy Friday!

    Dear Laurel,

As for the title "I Love Fall Giveaway". I do love fall. I love the crisp, cool breeeze, the leaves changing colors, pumpkins and Thanksgiving. However, there is one part I do not care for which I experienced yesterday. The cold wind combined with major rain while I am trying to watch my baby boy scrimmage at his football game. Umbrella's did not keep you dry due to the gusts of wind just blowing the rain right at you!

Now the contest; one of her recent blog posts "She's a Redneck Woman". I love Lysa Terkeurst and her inspiring words. She is such a wise person. I hope to gain some of her wisdom.

    with All God's Love,

    Julie B
