My friend fiddledeedee at “It Coulda’ Been Worse” bestowed an awesome honor. She said:
1. Laurel Wreath: L.W. and I have not actually met, but we have talked via phone. The first time I heard her voice, it felt like I had known her for a long time. She is easy going, a GREAT listener, and such a support for me. She’s not afraid to be vulnerable. On her blog, and as a friend. I call her my “cerebrally spiritual” friend. And she is easily embarrassed. Never ask her where the tampons are located in the grocery store. Just a friendly suggestion. And I’m certain that if I should ever call L.W. and tell her that I’ve gotten my head stuck in the car door, and there is no one to help me, she would make the 2 1/2 hour journey to save me. (Don’t worry L.W., I have Triple A). I’m just sayin’.
Wow, she has me pegged, embarrassed but would stop everything to help a friend (and you know it girl!). Thank you so much you are such an encouragement to me. And it is amazing how God sends the right person with the right words, on a day you are feeling kind of low. Thank you.
Now my sweet friend Terri at In His Hands said this:
Laurel Laurel Wreath Reflections. I’m going to be first in line for Laurel’s Book of Devotions because Laurel is bursting with inspiration. She also makes me want to deepen my relationship with Christ. She isn’t afraid to step on our toes if it will cause us to draw closer to Him. She is a good friend with a huge, caring heart and is always reaching out to others.
My response: Oh my goodness girl you could not have blessed me more. I am speechless…(mouth wide open speechless). (seriously folks, when you read something like that you really don’t think they are talking about you).
Also my sweet friend Iris said:
I know I probably break the ‘rules’ with this one) Laurel at Laurel Wreath is not just a blogging friend. Laurel is to me more like a younger sister (I know Laurel you already have siblings). We talk about everything – I mean EVERYTHING. She knows, even without me telling her, that there is something wrong with me. Now sure how she does it, but she knows. My favorite part about her—she is honest with me. If I am on the wrong track, you can bet she’ll let me know
Can I just say, people anything good you see in me or in my life is GOD!! It is all HIM. If I were left up to my own devices you would not want anything to do with me, I am sinner saved by grace. To God be the glory.
Now the instructions say I get to pass this on to 5 people and I quote:
“who have been an encouragement, a source of love, impacted you in some way, and have been a Godly example to you. Five Bloggers who when you reflect on them you get a sense of pride and joy… of knowing them and being blessed by them.”
“This award is for the best-of-the-best so consider who you pick, carefully. This award should not be given to just anyone. If you’re going to do the award don’t just write a few words and slap it on your blog. Write real thoughts about these bloggers and what they’ve meant to you. If the bloggers you pick have already been given the award, don’t be afraid to give it to them again. They deserve it as many times as it’s given.”
1. Iris at Sting My Heart. She has become my lifesaver, on days when Satan is attacking. She is my confidante when things of the heart are pressuring me. I always enjoyed flying home to see my family in Phoenix, now I have the added bonus of seeing Iris. I don’t think I would be blogging or writing as much if it were not for her encouragement. She is a friend you can be real with, lay out all your imperfections and she still talks to you…now that is a keeper in my book.
2. Lynn at Spiritually Unequal Marriage, is a person I have poured my heart out to. I have shared personal matters with and she always is a refreshment to my soul. She has the gift of exhortation. I admire her heart for women, and I desire in myself, the compassion I see radiating from her. She truly is someone I look up to.
3.Darlene at Darlene Schachts Blog has become a close friend. I know I can turn to her for prayer about anything. She is my prayer warrior. She has also opened up doors for me and made me believe in myself. Darlene is someone I wish lived next door, so I could pop in for a cup of sugar or just a cup of coffee. I love watching God use her in her ministry; it inspires me.
4. Barb at Chelsea Morning. Now I know you all love her because she can cook up a storm, and make us all drool on our screens. I love Barb because she has always been there for me, she has become like a best friend. In fact, she is my first “blog best friend” I made. I can pour out my ugly side when I am going through trials, and she encourages, loves, and sympathizes. If there is one person I seriously would consider getting on a plane and flying blindly to visit it would be her. And don’t worry manly man, if I ever do I will take cooking lessons from her =))
5. Shalee at Shalee’s Diner. Her compassion touches me beyond words. I have talked to her on the phone several times, the last time being a relatively long conversation. My world had been shaken, and she knew it. She waited a bit to let dust settle and then reached out. I love her humor and her heart and the fact I know we could share a bottle of wine together and could call it a great day=)
Each one of these women have significantly impacted my life in one way or another, each of you are a true reflection of Him. If anyone questions whether bloggers are real friends, all I have to do is think of these 5 (and more) to know yes, they are true friends.
I could list several more, if you did not see your name on the list it was only because I was limited to five, I could have made it 10. Blogging has introduced me to some really great women, I praise God for technology!!!!
And fiddledeedee I know if I ever want to know what kind of butt ointment or tampons to use, I know I could call you; you are just that kind of friend I love =) Thank you.
The rules for this award can be found here, and I understand that you can feel free to bestow this honor on bloggers that you want to honor.
