Feelings Meme…kind of explains where I am at.

Filed under Holiday Items, MeMe, Misc.

And if you were my Mom you would say, “you are between the ‘a’ and the ‘t’, don’t end a sentence in a preposition… (see Mom I did listen sometimes).

I saw this Meme on Living To Tell The Story, and feelings are what I have been ‘feeling’ a lot of lately, so I thought I would give this a try.

Feelings meme:

Reluctant to pack my youngest son because he leaves Monday and I won’t see him for three weeks. He is going early to Minnesota, we don’t leave until the end of the month.

Excited that hubby and I are having a date night tonight.

Worried about my oldest son’s behavior lately.

Relieved that today is Friday and the last day of school.

Wondering if high school will be better than middle school for my oldest son.

Certain that my youngest son will have a great time with Grandma and Grandpa while he is away.

Cautious about eating to much sugar, it gives me a headache.

Happy that I got my house cleaned today, and all I have to finish up is laundry tomorrow. (oh yeah and pack my son, see I am ignoring that fact =)

Love all my three boys and the man I married.

Adore my new niece. If I am honest I adore ALL my nieces.

Grateful for wonderful sisters I have in my life, either by birth, by marriage or even by Christian friendship. The Lord has blessed me.

Have a wonderful weekend. I will be ignoring the fact I need to pack my son and having a nice time out with hubby.

Let me know if you do this Meme…

A tag because I am brain dead…

Because tomorrow is the last day of spring break, I won’t share how I feel about that. dancing

And I am basically brain dead and lack original thought, I saw this tag on my friend Amy’s site and thought I would jump in.

I have to tell you 6 unimportant things about myself:

1. I have not had a soda in over a month. The gasps you just heard is my family on the other side of the US…but it is true I swear. I also only have one small cup of coffee in the morning. Now if you knew what a caffeine lover I was, your eyes would be bugging from amazement. Lets see how long I can keep it up. I am trying to eat healthy.

2. I read a book a week. Yes I am the writer of Book Buzz, but really if I wasn’t I STILL would read a book a week. I LOVE READING. By the way have you read the reviews for April?

3. I have begun only eating sprouted bread (Ezekiel 4:9 bread) or spelt bread.

4. I am already looking forward to running away this summer to Minnesota to do some bass fishing. Ok, I don’t really bass fish (but I have to say I look mighty cute with my pink fishing pole I bought last year), instead I read and enjoy the beautiful handy work of God. This year I am hoping to get matching pink waders. My motto is, “if I have to fish I might as well look cute doing it!” And I know all the boys will leave my stuff alone, because really what man/boy wants to be seen with a pink rod. Photobucket

5. My oldest is TWO months away from being called a HIGH SCHOOLER. People I don’t look old enough to HAVE a HIGH SCHOOLER. In fact when I was purchasing his birthday cake for his birthday last month, the cashier (an older lady) blurted out, “Girl you look WICKED young to have a 14 year old.” I was at first flattered, but as I walked away I wondered if I should tell her I was in my 20’s when he was born. Also my son’s basketball coach always calls me my son’s “sister.” Yep, he is the Casanova.

6. My middle son is running away to the beach all day tomorrow, yep I am jealous. I think when he returns I will tell him of our adventures of eating cake and ice cream all day…..do you think he will fall for it?

Writing out 6 unimportant things took longer and more thought than I had. I learned two things: yep I am boring and I am wordy!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND.

I am catching up on a tag from too long ago…

Angie at The Knightly News tagged be back in January. Sorry it has taken me so long Angie

The rules for this meme are:

(1) Link to the person that tagged you.

(2) Post the rules on your blog.

(3) Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself. (check)

(4) Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs.

(5) Let each random person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website.

Angie knows I am weird but now she wants me to publicly admit it =)

1) I can not STAND people hugging me when they are sweaty. My Dad use to always tease me, by pretending to give me a hug after working in the yard, now my boys like to do it to me after a sporting event they have just played in…. YUCK!

2) I am a piler; mail I stack, books I stack, homework I stack. My house sometimes looks like little stacks everywhere. Most of the time I can find what I am looking for, but not always. “It’s in the pile honey,” I always say.

3) I can eat peanut butter from the jar.

4) I love to dance when no one is looking, or with my little nieces. (they don’t laugh)

5) I am excited to be on a designers creative team. She designs digital scrapbook items and I get to use her items to make layouts. It is my new addiction, besides reading, blogging, photography, raising kids, feeding a husband, cleaning house… ok you get the point I over load myself. But I think it is my ADD and type A personality =))

6) Ok last but not least, I like to rebel. You say one thing I do another. For instance, the rules say to tag others…..but I am not =) But if you want to join in let me know.

Well there you have it weird Laurel in a nutshell.

Now go enter to win a free dress!

Know and Tell Friday…

To Know Him wanted me to answer a few questions….so here it is ;) Have a great weekend.

1.What scares you? Ummm spiders, driving in heavy traffic,

2. Coke or Pepsi (Diet counts)? Neither, in fact I have not drank soda for a couple of weeks. This is a big for me. Umm Cranberry juice (that is what I am sipping right now).

3. I would love to try… Hmm (thinking here) Feed the hungry and grant world peace (Oh wait that is my Mrs America speech… sorry). Write a book.

4. Spiritually speaking, do you have a Quiet Time? If so, where, when, and how long have you had one? If not, what is stopping you from having a Quiet time? (Quiet time is defined as time alone with God. It can consist of praying, reading God’s word, and worship among many other things) For years this has been a battle for me, but now I get up at 6am Mon thru Fri for quiet time, before the hustle and bustle of the day. Before it was at my kitchen table, now it is sitting on my couch beside my Christmas tree.

I love your blog and you make me smile….

Lizzie at A Dusty Frame
said:

Laurel Wreath encourages women to walk with the Lord. I enjoy reading her perspective and am always encouraged.

To be honest I could not have a higher compliment that I help encourage women with their walk with the Lord. That is my passion. Thank you Lizzie.

Let’s see I will pass it along to (and goodness knows I should just point you to my blogroll I have under People Who Inspire Me) but I won’t torture you like that so:

Molly at Molly-Coddled is someone who blesses me nonstop. I love the big heart she has, the love of her family and her love of FOOD. (who does not need to respond to the meme, just wanted to let you know you bless me girl!)

Nicole at A Gauntlet with a gift in it there are a few people who I feel a “God connection” with, some of them I may not meet in person this side of heaven, but I have to say with Nicole from day one it has been that kind of connection. I would tell you more but you are going to have to come by next week as I talk more about her, and I will have a free gift (there is your teaser =))

Terri at In His Hands
has been such a blessing to me. And this is one girl I PLAN to meet this side of heaven one way or another =) How do I even put into words how you have touched my heart in many different ways. Even if you do have a racecar kitchen =)))

*********************************************************************************

OK (the people all above make me smile but in an effort to tell more people how they bless me I will give this award to three others).

Terri at In His Hands said:

Laurel called our rental house kitchen the “racetrack kitchen” and every time I think of that I laugh my head off. She is very thoughtful and quick with the cards. LOL She always finds the perfect e-card to send at the perfect time and she makes me smile.

Angie at The Knightly News is someone who blesses me with her words and her heart, with every comment, email, etc… This is a girl who has picked me up when I was down. And whenever I chat with her she always makes me smile.

How could I talk about smiling without mentioning Deedra at Nspired By Faith, this girl cracks me up and always makes me smile. Girl I am praying for two just so you know =)))

Lynn at Spiritually Unequal Marriage has such a gift with words. She always uplifts you, encourages you and is a faithful prayer buddy.

And you guys know I probably would not still be blogging if it were not for Iris at Sting My Heart, she is my rock and keeps me sane =) Enjoy your break next week. And she is probably going to kill me that I gave her this award….

There are so many more that make me smile and who I love their blogs, that is why I sometimes cringe when I receive these awards. I am so blessed by everyone that visits me here, and when I visit you. Your time is valuable but yet you chose to spend some of it with me. Thank you.

I was tagged…..

Trinity from Rooms of My Heart tagged me..(and I have not done a tag in awhile, so thought this would be a good one).

My assignment if I so chose is :

Make a list of 10 things that happened to me. That is all the instructions I got, so I figure 10 things that have happened in my lifetime. (now see I have to remember what my Mom knows and what she doesn’t know since she read this blog =)) JUST KIDDING Mom!

Actually I live a fairly boring life, so coming up with 10 could be a challenge….

1. I fell off a bike and received a concussion when I was about 10 years old or so. I don’t remember it at all, except waking up in the middle of the night wondering what happened to me. (I bet that explains a lot to ya, huh!)

2. I went to the Bahamas as a baby sitter when I was a Senior in high school. The funny thing was I did not even have to babysit that much. And I met some worker that only spoke a little bit of English, and he gave me a tour in all the quarters below. It was an adventure.

3. I got married my Senior year of college. Did not go on a honeymoon.

4. I went into premature labor and gave birth 2 month early (3lb baby).

5. I was pregnant again 9 months later. We bought a TV for the bedroom.

6. The Lord moved me clear across the US from my family…from ALL my family.

7. I gave birth 2 1/2 years later to my third boy, the TV only helped so much. So the doctor took care of that.

(ok this is getting hard, I tell ya I have a boring life)

8. I have never received a speeding ticket in Florida. And yes I have used the “Oh hi officer, did you know my brother is a cop also?” ONLY ONCE!

9. I had major jaw surgery a year ago, and there was much rejoicing in this household when my jaw was rubber band shut!

10. Lastly, I broke a record tonight. I spend over $350 in one stinkin’ grocery shopping trip. I tell ya, they eat me out of house and home. Now we will see if manly man actually reads my blog, for I should hear loud moaning in the other room when he see this =)

Ok I will be mean this time and tag people who I know will still talk to me Iris, Lisa, Deedra, and Terri

Also don’t forget to visit me here:

Me a Princess?? Darn right I am …..

My first ever blog friend Lindsay, from My Splatter Painted Life, began a meme titiled “I’m a Bloggin’ Princess!” Now I don’t talk to her as often as I would like but she knows I luv her and I know she knows I come over to see pictures of that sweet baby she has, who by the way is growing up fast!!

But it it was my sweet friend at Pensieve who bestowed me this tiara; to which I say in return, darn right I am a Princess. I am surrounded by all boys and I claim the right to wear my tiara at all hours of the day. With high heels, and pink gloves.

Plus, HE calls me his Princess and HE is my Knight in Shinning amour. Just read Zephaniah and it talks about the groom claiming his bride.

The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.”~ Zephaniah 3:17

The rules say I need to :

Pass it on to any 3 people who you think is a bloggin’ princess!
Tell why you think that person is a bloggin’ princess and make sure you let them know!

1. Angel at Perals of Wisdom is a blogging Princess because of the encouragement she gives to me every day. She has such a sweet heart and it shows through.

2.Alycia at Where My Treasures Are is another Princess. She has such a sweet heart and she lives in Japan right now while her husband is serving our country. I mean just look at her here she is beautiful inside and out.

3. Amy at In Pursuit of Proverbs 31 is a person I have just recently been getting to know, I am so blessed by her. And I am sorry, anyone that does this post to help womankind is a Princess in my book.

Each of these women bless me in their own special way, and I am blessed to be part of the blogging world with them.

Go girls claim your tiara and wear it proudly you are the daughter of a King.

Have a great Friday.

Book Meme…

Crystal at God’s In Control Not Me (don’t you just love the title of her blog) tagged me for a book Meme, she must have heard I LOVE READING. Ok so here we go:

The Rules Are:
Post your responses.
Tag anywhere from 1-5 friends.
Leave comments to let them know they’ve been tagged.
Come back and leave a comment when your post is up.

Next 5 books on your to be read shelf:

A Dangerous Mourning by Anne Perry

Defend and Betray by Anne Perry

Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life by Donald S. Whitney

The Wager by Bill Myers (given to me by a sweet friend)

Last 4 books you’ve read:

Humility True Greatness by C.J. Mahaney (highly recommend)

The Face of a Stranger by Anne Perry

Randsomed Dreams by Amy Wallace

My Heart’s In the Lowlands by Liz Curtis Higgs

Last 3 books you’ve borrowed (library or friend)

All my Anne Perry Books (thanks Mom)

Last 2 non-fiction books you’ve read:

George Whitfield God’s Anointed Servant in the Great Revival of the Eighteenth Centry by Arnold A. Dallimore

The Legacy of Sovereign Joy by John Piper (Grace in the lives of Augustine, Luther, & Calvin)

The 1 book you wish everyone would read

For everyone: C.J. Mahaney “Living the Cross Centered Life, Keeping the Gospel the Main Thing”
(Dad write that one down, I would give you mine but I read it once a year. It is only 156 pages, but a great book to read each year)

For women, I highly recommend “Do you think I am beautiful” by Angela Thomas

Ok next question, who is going to put all these books around me away? Who to tag…

Barb
(but you don’t have to do until after your daughters wedding, you know I am always nosy in what you are reading).

FiddleDeeDee (because I want to see if she reads beside blogs, and if she doesn’t I don’t blame her, her lack of sleep would be the culprit)

Shalee’s Diner
(even though she gave some great review at the beginning of May, I would like to know what she is reading now)

Dreams?

Susanne from Truly Captivating tagged me about my dreams.

With this meme it asks: What are your dreams? Not things that God has promised you, but things you dream about or things that you whisper in His ear. What are you believing God for? Be bold, Be Honest, Be courageous!

Well amazing enough, talking about my dreams was the very first post I did of the year here
I said:

I don’t know when it started but I am scared to dream. Mainly because I want God’s will no matter what, and it seems whatever I dream He changes. I feel things deeply so when I dream and things change I tend to get my feelings hurt. The Lord has been teaching me how to turn over my dreams and desires to him, but still dream big. He has been saying, “Come on girl, give me all you got, DREAM BIG”.

So dreaming is something I have been working on this year.

If I could give a list of my dreams:

1. That my youngest son catches up to his grade level in his reading this summer. And passes an important test he has to take June 28th.

2. That my house sells this summer and we get the chance to either move into a new house or begin building.

3. To grow in knowledge of Christ, the more I study the more I want to learn.

4. That my sons grow and show a desire to learn more about Christ.

5. That my husband grows and desires to learn more about Christ.

6. To lose that stinkin 5 pounds that seems to always come back.

7. And for my way out there, laugh at the thought, dream…I would love to write a devotional book maybe sometime in my life. That dream is a hoot though, I can not spell worth a darn and my sentence structure is to be desired. That would totally be a God thing, but it is something for later on in life when the kids are older. “Maybe something like, ‘I survived the Testosterone World’ ” hehehehe.

Consider yourself tagged, and come back and let me know when it is up =)
