Do you know Joy? I love Joy’s blog, just her blog’s name makes me feel welcome. She makes me feel like a normal Mom who struggles through every day things, and Joy for full disclosure I had to clean off my table just so I could take the picture and right in the middle of this post my dog decided to poop in the living room =).

Anyways look what I got in the mail from Joy….can we say CHICK FLICK WEEKEND. And my BOYS cannot argue because it is MOMMY WEEKEND. Thanks Joy for sending this at the perfect time, now I can slip away and enjoy my Mother’s Day weekend. (I won a contest on Joy’s blog)

Just some newsy update stuff. When I was gone for a week I did a lot of thinking about the blogging aspect here. I greatly enjoy it, but life has been very hectic. When I had a chance to stop everything and get away for a week I did not even take my laptop (which is a biggie for me). I thought about where my full energies should be focused. I don’t want to give up blogging, and I don’t plan to, but I plan on scaling back a lot.

I will be popping in to let you know when I have a new Book Buzz article up. This summer is going to be big, I have some awesome interviews (like the one I have with Amy Wallace in this months edition of CWO). Next month is another interview you will NOT want to miss if you have children, it is one of the more important interviews I feel I have done.



I am still currently writing for Laced With Grace at a minimum once a month. I greatly enjoy the ladies there and what the site has to offer.



I have three boys going in three different directions. School is out in a month, and to be honest summer is a CRAZY time in my household. Besides soccer and basketball, we have now added high school football conditioning (basketball ends very soon, so the basketball and football are just overlapping for a week or so). But all of the above plus upcoming summer camps, my sister having her baby, Laced With Grace, Book Buzz, laundry, cooking, cleaning etc… is where my focus will be for awhile.



During your summer months be sure to visit my book review section (located uder the tab on top) for some suggestions. On the 15th, I will have another awesome book suggestion, and a chance to win some stuff. But until then…I will still be around reading your blog, feel free to email me or use my contact form above to say “hi” or let me know anything I can pray for.

Because tomorrow is the last day of spring break, I won’t share how I feel about that.

And I am basically brain dead and lack original thought, I saw this tag on my friend Amy’s site and thought I would jump in.

I have to tell you 6 unimportant things about myself:

1. I have not had a soda in over a month. The gasps you just heard is my family on the other side of the US…but it is true I swear. I also only have one small cup of coffee in the morning. Now if you knew what a caffeine lover I was, your eyes would be bugging from amazement. Lets see how long I can keep it up. I am trying to eat healthy.

2. I read a book a week. Yes I am the writer of Book Buzz, but really if I wasn’t I STILL would read a book a week. I LOVE READING. By the way have you read the reviews for April?

3. I have begun only eating sprouted bread (Ezekiel 4:9 bread) or spelt bread.

4. I am already looking forward to running away this summer to Minnesota to do some bass fishing. Ok, I don’t really bass fish (but I have to say I look mighty cute with my pink fishing pole I bought last year), instead I read and enjoy the beautiful handy work of God. This year I am hoping to get matching pink waders. My motto is, “if I have to fish I might as well look cute doing it!” And I know all the boys will leave my stuff alone, because really what man/boy wants to be seen with a pink rod.

5. My oldest is TWO months away from being called a HIGH SCHOOLER. People I don’t look old enough to HAVE a HIGH SCHOOLER. In fact when I was purchasing his birthday cake for his birthday last month, the cashier (an older lady) blurted out, “Girl you look WICKED young to have a 14 year old.” I was at first flattered, but as I walked away I wondered if I should tell her I was in my 20’s when he was born. Also my son’s basketball coach always calls me my son’s “sister.” Yep, he is the Casanova.

6. My middle son is running away to the beach all day tomorrow, yep I am jealous. I think when he returns I will tell him of our adventures of eating cake and ice cream all day…..do you think he will fall for it?

Writing out 6 unimportant things took longer and more thought than I had. I learned two things: yep I am boring and I am wordy!

How is it as an 30 year old woman who lives clear across the US from her parents…still gets this funny feeling when you hear the words “we are going on vacation and will be back soon.” You still get that feeling like:

hehehe, I’m just saying somethings never change. I promise Mom I will try to stay out of trouble but for some reason trouble seems to always find me….have a great time =))
