The Noticer by Andy Andrews

The Noticer

I apologize now, for the next month you are going to get sick of me saying “this is the best book I have read.”

Why? Because I have been engrossed in some great books lately. “The Noticer” by Andy Andrews being one of them. I seriously don’t know what it is, but Christian authors have been pumping out some inspiring, life changing books.

I enjoyed this book so much I read a chapter to my Mom and she said, “Ok Lori I am hooked I will buy the book.” I am even going to have my 15 year old read this book. This is a book for Christians and non-Christians alike. When life is falling down around you sometimes you need some one come along side of you to help you gain a new perspective. Life does not change, problems do not go away, but your new perspective will give you a new lease on life. What this quick video.

“Whatever you focus upon, increases.”

“Wisdom is the ability to see, into the future, the consequences of your choices in the present.”

These are all quotes from the powerful new book “The Noticer” by Andy Andrews. Orange Beach, Alabama is just like any other town, filled with imperfect people. People who are dealing with divorce, elderly who are giving up, bankruptcy, and youth who have given up on life. Fortunately for several of these people in Orange Beach, Alabama when life became unbearable, a man named Jones “The Noticer” showed up on the scene. Not Mr. Jones, just Jones. Jones helps each person gain a little perspective about their situation. Their situations do not change, but he changes their course in life by offering a different point of view.

I have one word for this book: POWERFUL. This book will inspire while helping you gain a different perspective to the trials in your life. I would not call this a Christian book, but I did have the opportunity to hear Andy Andrews in person a Christian Book Expo in Dallas earlier this year. I can see why this man that has the ear of ever senior leader in the US Air Force. Has visited with General Norman Schwarzkopf and spent time with Bob Hope.

You can read chapter one here: http://www.andyandrews.com/downloads/pdf/Andrews-The-Noticer-Chapter1.pdf I promise you will be hooked.

Oh, man, this book sounds good. I wish I had time to enjoy reading all of the great books on my “must read” list. My mom would probably love this book, too. Thanks for the review and video.

Lori, thanks for the heads up on this one. It must be good since you are the second person to rave about it. Do you follow Terry Whalin? He’s a writer of more than 60 books, a publisher, and lives in Scottsdale. He’s a great contact to have. Here’s a link to something he wrote: http://terrywhalin.blogspot.com/2009/04/power-of-observation.html and here’s another from today: http://terrywhalin.blogspot.com/2009/04/best-teacher.html

Check it out. I hope you’re still excited about Saturday; I am!
