She’s Hesitant

You know what I love about God? He loves to show off.

When I first found out about the Christian Book Expo, I knew there was no way I would be able to attend.

But God loves to show off.

Not only did I attend but he blessed me with meeting people I never thought I would meet in my lifetime. Not only did I meet them, but they counseled me and gave me wisdom on serving God.

I really should not be surprised, but I always am. I left humbled and wowed.

But God loves to show off.

About 2 years ago the Lord opened the door to be able to review Christian books. Writing is not a talent I felt I had.

But God loves to show off.

Now in those two years I have come to know many authors who have blessed my heart and enriched my life spiritually. I have had the chance to interview Lisa Welchel, Angela Thomas, and Rebecca St. James along with many other authors.

But God loves to show off.

I told God I could not write, in fact I even struggle with spelling. And soon I have an announcement about something being in a book with covers. (more info to come)

Ok so God gave me the ability to write, but I can not speak in public.

But God loves to show off.

I have my first speaking engagement scheduled. I have spoke before, but it has been a long time.

Then I hear about Proverbs 31 She Speaks Conference and I am hesitant.

She Speaks offers a Writer’s Track and a Speaker’s track and I have heard good things about both of them. Also after meeting Lysa TerKeurst at CBE I know it will be nothing but a class act.

Father, I am not a writer nor am I a speaker.

But I have learned sometimes God, you love to show off and show us the power you have IN US.

  1. Lori, are you going to go to this conference? I know several other people who are going. For me, it depends on what’s going on in my life which right now is so up in the air. But I will pray about this too.

  3. Yeah – He indeed loves to show off – doesn’t He. Sometimes we just need to get out of the boat, trust Him and keep our eyes fixed on Him :) – How cool about the scholarship. I hope you win it :)

  4. There are many wonderful women who are going to this, and I hope God shows off in a big way! I would LOVE to meet you in person! I so don’t feel like a writer or a speaker, but I’ve been feeling this nagging to speak. If I ever do, it will be all God showing off — I can guarantee that!
