Thankful Thursday and I am feeling good so a giveaway also….

by Lori

I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers, because I hear about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints. I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ. Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the saints. Philemon 1:4-7 (NIV)

There are so many people I could dedicate those verses to. It is one of my favorites.

1. I am thankful the Lord has led people into my life that have refreshed me and got me back on track.

2. I am thankful my niece was ok when she fell and blacked out last weekend. My niece got to visit with all the friendly firemen (hehe). She is doing great now. I am thankful my sister did not go into labor because of it =)

3. I am so thankful I live in this era, I am reading a book that is a journal from someone in the 1880′s and I really don’t think I would have survived. Did you know they did not have A/C?? Oh my goodness =))

4. I am thankful my oldest son is having a great time on the basketball team. My other two sons are kicking booty on the soccer field. And yes basketball and soccer games happen at the same time (just to make my life more interesting). So hubby and I have to divide which parent is where….ah the joys of three boys playing all at the same time.

And the thought for the day:

No matter what you mood is, good/bad/ugly…God is faithful. And he is crazy about you. Have a wonderful Thursday.

I’m thankful I live in this century too even though I used to romanticize the olden days. Now, I imagine myself living without toilets, running water, contact lenses, … etc.

I’m getting the CD so don’t enter me please :)

Chaotic Joy April 9, 2008 at 11:42 pm

I just went to his site and listened to part of his CD since everyone seems to be talking about it, and “Empty and Beautiful” was so amazing. It gave me chills. So in case you aren’t getting the hint…Enter me, please.

Great list!
I am a hopeless romantic, and I love “period” pieces…so sometimes I like to THINK that I could endure life without all our modern “conveniences”…but like I said… a dreamer I am!
Thanks for sharing your thankfulness with us today, and for the giveaway! Have a good one!

Shalee April 10, 2008 at 11:57 am

Oh how wonderful that everything was fine with your niece!

And yeah, I’m glad that I live in the here and now, although the no AC thing wouldn’t bother me. The lack of indoor plumbing, however, would! Just think of what others who are living in 2108 will say about living in this time…

Julie@love,laughter&laundry April 10, 2008 at 1:14 pm

Oh my, I so understand the kids plus different sports = mom and dad play tage team deal.

We have four kids doing four different sports. It is a juggling act.

I have never heard of this CD but it sounds great. Count me in!

Julie

Melanie April 10, 2008 at 1:44 pm

LOL — I’m not sure I would’ve fared so well without the A/C either. We are all so blessed that God is always faithful! I love the having the knowledge that no matter where I am or how feel or what I’m doing — God is always there. He meets us wherever we are!

Have a blessed week!

Barb April 10, 2008 at 3:49 pm

Such a nice list of things to be thankful for, Laurel. And let me tell you, I totally agree about the a/c. We’d never survive out here in western Colorado without it. I can’t imagine living where you do without a/c either. Of course, you could always just go jump into the ocean. Sigh.

Kim April 10, 2008 at 4:51 pm

Thanks… and enter me.
But, mostly thank you for sharing your love for the Savior through your thankful heart. And, yes, very good your sister did not go into labor. OH MY!!
