Also a couple of side notes, it would mean a lot to me if you came over and visited me at CWO. I had the awesome privilege chatting with Lisa Whelchel on the phone, it was a highlight to my year! Let me know what you think!

Secondly, are you a Company Girl? If not click the button on my side bar to find out all about it, it is something really exciting for 2008!

Have a wonderful day!

Umm yes I am still alive…barely.

I have eaten so much food, I am ready to hibernate like a bear. Christmas was awesome, normally we travel for Christmas, but this year we stayed home. It was just the five of us Christmas morning and I had a blast! Not that I want to be without extended family each year, but it made this year special. I had the misconception since we have older kids that we would get to sleep in a bit on Christmas morning…NO SIREE… we were up and going at 7 AM! The oldest son being the first one up, HA! But don’t they look like they had a blast!

Hubby updated my Photoshop Elements to #6, and now I am lost again..but it is fun figuring things out. I am enjoying time off from work, enjoying my kids while they are off, and just relaxing. And the boys…they are rocking out on their new Guitar Hero. Some serious concentration going on here..

Just wanted to pop in and say I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. I am taking things slow for a bit. I have not been commenting much, but I am reading your posts. Be sure to check out the January Issue of Christian Women Online, I have an exciting interview with someone very special. I will give you a hint, it has something to do with one of the items we are giving away at Laced With Grace. If you have not had a chance to enter the give away….go there now.

See you in the NEW YEAR! Can you believe it is going to be 2008! I remember while growing up, trying to figure out how old I would be in the year 2000! And that seemed sooooo old, now we are entering 2008, and I am NOT old yet, hehehe =)

Just popping in to direct you to a neat article..

Irish Calvinist wrote such a wonderful post.

God serves it up in the gospel to his people that they may see the beauty and glory of Jesus after being sickened by their own wickedness.

Head on over there to read it! I know it is a sports analogy, but a good one!

A funny story and my beautiful Christmas ornament from the exchange. *UPDATED*

I participated in an Ornament exchange hosted by Kathleen, here. This is my first time participating, and oh my goodness did I get spoiled. But first I have to tell you a funny story.

I got the box today, I did not recognize the return address. Well hubby and I have strict orders that if we don’t know who it is from then it must be a gift the other person ordered and to NOT OPEN. You see I am kind of a sneak (hehe). Well so this box came, I shook it and it made a pretty noise and I am thinking “What did hubby get me that rings?” I called him at work, and he hemmed and hawed (well because he could not remember, what he could have possibly purchased that rang). This was at about 3pm in the afternoon, so I sat the box on hubby’s dresser. He came home and looked at the box, and for the life of him he could not remember what he ordered (said it bugged him all afternoon). So he found me in the kitchen and said, “honey I don’t think I purchased this.” “Oh,” I said, “it must have been something I bought you.” So we stood over the box wondering who is going to see a present and who is losing their mind! Well it turned out to be from her. We laughed, realizing this system we have may not work when we really do begin to lose our memory!!

Boy Love Bears All Things spoiled me rotten this year! I got the most beautiful “Porcelain Dated Bell” and I am sure I was a pain to shop for because I really did not give many hints (not on purpose mind you). But tell me how did she know one of my tree colors was white! Just look how beautiful it looks on my tree!

Thank you so much for the beautiful ornament. You may have just started something, hmmmm it does look good on my tree….a yearly addition? We will see, but I LOVE IT!!

Y’ALL I REALLY AM NOT BLONDE!

I totally missed another gift given to me by Mama Bear, I AM SOOO SORRY. This one even makes my heart melt EVEN MORE. She hand-stitched a beautiful ornament. Just look how special and adorable, Mama Bear thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your love is felt in every stitch I see, and you made my first ornament exchange so awesome. I am soo sorry I did not see it at first in the tissue paper~I was just so excited and giddy about getting such beautiful items!

I have been poor about getting Christmas cards out this year (yes that even means my family members, so please don’t take it personally), so from my family to yours MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I’ve been a good mommy…

Dear Santa….

I’ve been a good mom all year. I’ve fed, cleaned and cuddled my

children on demand, visited the doctor’s office more than my doctor,

sold sixty-two cases of candy bars to raise money to plant a shade tree

on the school playground. I was hoping you could spread my list out

over several Christmases, since I had to write this letter with my

son’s red crayon, on the back of a receipt in the laundry room between

cycles, and who knows when I’ll find anymore free time in the next 18

years.

Here are my Christmas wishes:

I’d like a pair of legs that don’t ache (in any color, except purple,

which I already have) and arms that don’t hurt or flap in the breeze;

but are strong enough to pull my screaming child out of the candy aisle

in the grocery s tore.

I’d also like a waist, since I lost mine somewhere in the seventh

month of my last pregnancy.

If you’re hauling big ticket items this year I’d like fingerprint

resistant windows and a radio that only plays adult music; a television

that doesn’t broadcast any programs containing talking animals; and a

refrigerator with a secret compartment behind the crisper where I can

hide to talk on the phone.

On the practical side, I could use a talking doll that says, “Yes,

Mommy” to boost my parental confidence, along with two kids who don’t

fight and three pairs of jeans that will zip all the way up without the

use of power tools.

I could also use a recording of Tibetan monks chanting “Don’t eat in

the living room” and “Take your hands off your brother,”

because my voice seems to be just out of my children’s hearing range and can only be

heard by the dog.

If it’s too late to find any of these products, I’d settle for enough

time to brush my teeth and comb my hair in the same morning, or the

luxury of eating food warmer than room temperature without it being

served in a Styrofoam container.

If you don’t mind, I could also use a few Christmas miracles to

brighten the holiday season. Would it be too much trouble to declare

ketchup a vegetable? It will clear my conscience immensely. It would

be helpful if you could coerce my children to help around the house

without demanding payment as if they were the bosses of an organized

crime family.

Well, Santa, the buzzer on the dryer is ringing and my son saw my feet

under the laundry room door. I think he wants his crayon back.

Have a safe trip and remember to leave your wet boots by the door and

come in and dry off so you don’t catch cold.

Help yourself to cookies on the table but don’t eat too many or leave

crumbs on the carpet.

Yours Always, MOM…!

P.S. One more thing…you can cancel all my requests if you can keep my children young enough to believe in Santa. this may be my last year! =) (Author Unknown)

Thankful Thursday - Rest

Mark 6: 30-31a The apostles returned to Jesus and told him all that they had done and taught. And he said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.”

1. I am thankful I can stop in the middle of life and rest in His perfect rest.

2. I am thankful I have found some really great shopping deals, it makes my day when I save money =)(I got an Anolon 10 x 15 Inch Cookie Sheet for .0.38cent, you read that right. And yes I am very proud….)

3. I am thankful for all the blessings the Lord has blessed me with this year, I stand in awe. Lord knows I don’t deserve one stinkin thing, but yet he still loves me unconditionally.

4. I am thankful that I am blessed with a great family on both sides (mine and my husband’s) may I never take that for granted.

5. After this week, I have a few things I need to finish up but I will only be popping in here now and then. I am going to take a “rest,” Darlene and Iris have both allowed me three months off from writing Internet Cafe and Laced With Grace, I want to come back refreshed and renewed. I will be around, just not as much. And you will find me monthly at Book Buzz. Don’t miss January’s issue of Christian Women Online, it is a biggie for me.

6. I am getting so excited because my twin nephews will be born in less than a month. Their Mom knows they are better in her tummy right now, but more than likely she is wishing they were out. Carrying twins is not for the weak, that is for sure. And can I tell you she gained it all in her stomach, she still has skinny arms, skinny face, skinny legs, etc… yea, she makes me sick too. I gained all over with my three.
7. Finally, thank you Iris for allowing me to host these four weeks, it has been a blessing.

So what are you thankful for this week?
