Wow what a weekend….

by Laurel on February 25, 2007

Friday night manly man let me run away to my second love in life, Barnes & Noble. I described to my Mom, I have tons of plans when I head to a book store but once I get there I get so excited and tingly I forget all my plans. Then I head on over to get a nice hot cup of Cinnamon Dolce (yummm) and I see the 4 words that stopped my heart cold. GODIVA EXTRA CHOCOLATE CHEESECAKE. Are those the most wonderful words in the world girls!! I had to read the sign three times. Being in a bookstore and reading those words rank second to my honeymoon night. That is how excited I was. Oh goodness me, one girl is not suppose to have that much fun. Oh but the great weekend did not stop there, I was in for a big surprise.

By the way don’t I look leaner, don’t I look slimmer, I am wider….. You see manly man took me to Best Buy and we saw a deal that just could not have been passed up. I would like you to meet my “Thank You Jesus for Tax Returns” gift: (which was a gift from manly man to me, see I have not even taken the sticker off the key board yet!)

I am thrilled with my new toy, but I have to say I am a bit lost. I did lose some of my Firefox settings. This computer has the new Microsoft Windows Vista program on it, so I am not familiar with the settings, something that took me two seconds to do, is now taking me a few minutes while I learn to navigate my way around. I am still transferring files and programs from my older laptop to this new one, but it has been fun so far. So if you don’t hear from me, I am lost in the world of organizing, filing, downloading, and installing. I went over to check my “reads” for this weekend, over a 100. I thought you guys did not post that much on a weekend! I am a little slow in getting around so forgive me if it takes me a bit to catch up.

Did you hear my address is changed also, it is now www.laurelwreathsreflections.com

Now THAT’S a fun toy, LW. Have you ever had the Godiva Chocolate Coconut Truffles? I’m certain they will be served in Heaven.

I got your address all changed over. What happened to winter?

I was wondering why “you” looked “different.” Yes, the new laptop is so… so slimming! And it really brings out the color of your eyes, I think. LOL I like your new address, too. Are you going to have a housewarming? :)

Oh.my.goodness. That is just awesome that you got such a great deal on a new laptop. My hubby is playing with ‘Vista’ right now. When he feels comfortable with it, I’ll up-grade (or he will up-grade me)…

As for cheesecake- I am the ‘fruity’ kind. I love Raspberry cheesecake! I am glad you found your favorite kind at the book store. No better combination than books and cheesecake :)

Blessings on your evening and always…aka ‘happy transferring’

Lucky you! Look at that - it’s gorgeous. How I would love a laptop. And I’m dying to see the new Vista setup.

How much fun! Now I’m not just saying this to make you feel better but you do look slimmer! Way to go, manly man!

Firefox does not work that well on my mac so I stopped using it.

Golleee Laurel - I don’t know which to envy most, your time in B&N or that new laptop!!
It’s wonderful that you had such a good weekend. One of these days I’d love a laptop. When this PC dies, I think I will (although I have nightmares about learning anything new or messing up what I already so painstakingly learned). Have lots of fun!!

I have heard TONS of people saying that about Windows Vista. I heard they replaced all WORDS with PICTURES in Microsoft Word! UGh!

Well how exciting. Now that you have a wide screen you’ll never go back. I’ve had my new toy since the fall and I still haven’t taken the tags off. :v)

That cheesecake and coffee sounds like a piece of heaven. I think I’ll go for coffee and see if they have that flavor at my bookstore.

I was FORCED to get a new computer (laptop) about a month ago. Mine has Vista also. I have not dug into any of the bells and whistles on it…AND….was slightly irritated that my 2 yr old Dell printer did not have a driver yet for it!!!! I needed to print electronic tickets and had no way to print them! Ugh!!! Driver won’t be ready until April - HELLOOOOO? How long did they know Vista was in the works???

Ok - whew that’s off my chest! ha ha

Very cool, girl! From the cinnamon dolce (my fav) at Borders (my fav) topped with Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake (also a fav)…all the way to a new laptop from the hubby! So, so, cool!

Wish I could reach through this screen, give you a {{{{hug}}}} and do a little happy dance together! Praise the Lord for all good gifts of every kind!

What fun! I went to B and N twice this weekend. I cherish those times alone, sitting in the big comfy chair with a starbucks treat and books/magazines to inspire me!

what a lovely gift!!
(I knew something was different with you!!)

ahh, the cheesecake. I have a thing with the Godiva chocolate cheesecake at cheesecake factory…might be the one and the same you met with. Hubby always offers to leave me ‘alone’ with it. Bliss, sure bliss.

Sounds like a possibility for the Best Weekend Ever award. Books, schocolate cheesecake, coffee and a laptop. Paradise is found. And great news after your op as well. Praise the Lord!

Congratulations! My husband got a new laptop for work a few months ago and I’ve had lots of fun with it.

Congrats on your new domain. I’m going to do that for myself as a treat when I finish my friend’s website, if I ever complete it!
